The best bread for every occasion

Given the wide variety of breads available today, it’s sometimes difficult to choose and, above all, to choose well. Today we bring you seven ideas to help you succeed in the world of sandwiches.

Snacks are part of Mediterranean DNA. Whether you take them on an excursion or enjoy them at the bar, there’s no doubt that it’s one of the most popular recipes. And it’s easy to see why: no one can resist two tasty slices of bread, fresh from the oven, with a delicious mixture in the middle. No one.

If you have a catering business, you ought to know that having bread with different characteristics, according to different products, flavours and textures, is a safe bet. Frozen, precooked bread, made of frozen dough for hospitality, is a great way to get it. Pre-baked bread preserves the qualities of artisan bread and adds advantage that it can be stored frozen until needed.

Moreover, there’s no mystery to how to bake frozen, precooked bread:you just have to let it defrost and give one last blast in the oven to make it crunchy and perfect. A company that is dedicated to distributing frozen bread can help you to have this type of bread in your establishment.

But what bread goes best with each food? We bring you some ideas of types of breads and mixtures you can include in your lunch and even dinner menu. Take note!

Rye bread

Rye bread, you may already know, is especially suitable for people suffering from constipation and diabetes due to its high fibre content. Its format also makes it especially suitable for toast, another succulent option to enjoy a good bread.

What does it go well with? Various products. Rye bread toast with tomato, unripened cheese, pine nuts and pesto sauce is only one such option. Fresh cheese, figs, rocket and cane honey (with a little black pepper) also go perfectly with this type of bread, as well as turkey breast, Havarti cheese and poached eggs (you can also add a little pepper here).

Even rye bread goes well with the sweetest mixtures. Chocolate cream or peanuts with banana or strawberries on top is another combination worth considering.

Wholegrain bread

Wholegrain bread is the bread par excellence for those who want to look after themselves a little more, since it contains up to three times more fibre than white bread. Made with 100% wholewheat flour, its grain contains the germ (which provides antioxidants and phytonutrients), the endosperm (which provides protein and starch) and the bran (a source of fibre, vitamins and minerals). Wholewheat bread goes perfectly with avocado, tomato and olive oil. It couldn’t be healthier (or more delicious).

Country bread with olives

Olives lend a touch to bread that’s as unique as it’s interesting. The country bread made with wheat flour and green olives, for example, has a great taste and a very consistent crumb. Its appearance is also very attractive thanks to the two large Gordal olives used to decorate it. On the other hand, the demi flute with olives uses, in this case, sliced black olives and is ideal for sandwiches with a generous filling.

And that’s that: the following mixture is perfect for these Mediterranean sandwiches: salami, buffalo mozzarella, sun-dried tomato and fresh rocket. We promise.

Bread with olive oil

Breads that include olive oil in their recipe are the ideal breads to eat with Iberian ham. The most classic sandwich which, despite the tradition it has, never goes out of style. There are several such breads, such as the rustic demi flute, the Mediterranean cristal express, and the hillbilly loaf. With their pleasant, mild flavours (thanks to the extra virgin olive oil in their recipes), their crunchy crust and soft, moist crumb make them perfect for combining with this classic Spanish cold meat. You will only have to add roasted tomato, rocket and a little (more) olive oil to make it irresistible.

Oatmeal bread

This bread made with wheat and oat flour includes granulated and flakedoats in the dough, which enhances the product’s organoleptic properties. Bread with oatmeal is also a source of fibre and helps regulate intestinal transit. With salmon, fresh spinach and cream cheese it will be todie for and, above all, very healthy.

Aqua bread with seeds

Freshness and flavour. These two words perfectly define aqua bread with seeds which, when baked ina stone-based oven (lending it a rustic character), is also crowned by sunflower, golden flax, brown flax and sesame seeds. It’s an ideal accompaniment for vegetables, since it goes very well with their textures. With fresh tomato, grated carrot, spinach, hummus and feta cheese, it will be anamazing choice.

Bread with pumpkin seeds and other seeds

At this stage, there’s nothing new about the idea that, besides flavour, appearance is crucial when it comes to eating. So if you want to offer a chicken sandwich, bread should be very prominent. Bread with pumpkin seeds and other seeds may be ideal in this regards, since it is notable for its great flavour but also for the five cereals and the six seeds in it (and that also cover its surface). As for the mixture, besides chicken, we can add grilled courgette, brie cheese and honey-mustard sauce. Simply unbeatable.
