Make breakfast a magnificent attraction for your hotel
The holidays are coming and hotel reservations are multiplying. But, do you know how important it is to offer a good breakfast at your establishment? Take note.
Summer is synonymous with rest. And, to fully enjoy the well-deserved switching off and sunny days, there is nothing like forgetting about your worries. This is precisely why hotels that offer breakfast are preferred by many tourists. In fact, many of them book after looking specifically at this aspect, as shown by a survey conducted by the marketing and consumer research company Skift, which shows that 42.4% of people believe breakfast is the service they most expect at a hotel. That figure says it all.
The truth is that, whether you’re spending an unforgettable day at the beach or enjoying urban tourism, breakfast is crucial. Scientific studies suggest that eating breakfast properly is related to higher nutriet intake throughout the day, which better meets nutritional recommendation and improves the quality of your diet. Therefore, if you have a hotel, don’t hesitate: offering breakfast is a guaranteed win.
But what to offer? And, above all, how can you do it so that the food is as tasty as it is profitable for the business? Thanks to frozen dough, it is now easier than ever to enjoy a wide variety of products to captivate a hotel’s guests. Frozen bakery doughs, which allow you to preserve the qualities of the food intact, become your great companions on this culinary journey.
It should be remembered that, when you’re enjoying your long-awaited holiday, you want the experience to be as complete as possible. That includes, for example, eating breakfast foods that you wouldn’t normally have time to prepare at home. Instead of having a white coffee and a couple of biscuits in a hurry, at a hotel breakfast you can indulge yourself. And, therefore, it’s a good idea to have all kinds of products available to your guests.
What to offer for breakfast at your hotel
What to have for breakfast? Savoury pastries? Or a succulent chocolate croissant? Apparently, the decision will depend on what you ate the night before or what you accordingly feel like eating. Moreover, an important cultural factor also comes into play here, since not all tenants will have the same wish for a sweet or savoury breakfast. At all events, it’s a good idea to have both options available to ensure they’re happy. An example of a breakfast that includes all this is the continental breakfast.
In the case of savoury, bread is the answer. Thanks to the characteristics of frozen pre-baked bread, you can have multiple varieties: sandwich loaves that are high in fibre, crystal bread, spelt loaf, sliced bread, milk bread… And they don’t all have the same purpose. While the former may be more suitable for making toast with oil and salt or a little rubbed tomato, others, such as rolls (for example, a mini ciabatta), will be more suitable for a small snack with cold meats.
Of course, every good hotel breakfast must have sweet pleasures: the yearned-for pastries. Pastry dough or croissant dough makes it very easy to have these types of products conveniently, quickly and on-demand. What products are the biggest hits? Normally, the classics: the traditional favourites. However, other varieties can also be included, since diversity is currently practically infinite. And many other sweet options to delight diners: pain au chocolat, apple puff pastry, pain au chocolat crème…
Once the food is collected in the buffet area, it’s time to sit at the table and simply let yourself go. And don’t you just want to have time to savour food and a relaxed chat after months living at a hectic pace. Having breakfast at your hotel also allows you to create these moments that the guests will really value.
This, by the way, also increasingly bears in mind healthiness. Therefore, besides the above products, it’s worth including fruit among the options you offer (moreover, thanks to its colours, it creates a very desirable striking effect). Finally, breakfast should be accompanied with quality juice, coffee or tea that will round off the experience in a positive way. If there is a classic local product in the area where your hotel is located, it may also be a good idea to include it.
Hotels that want to go a step further and break the mould of classic standards can also opt for more sophisticated or innovative products. For example, tulips (which may have flavours as varied as triple chocolate, apricot, toffee and chocolate, or red berries) or hoops. Premium assortments of pastries may also include palmiers, mini pepitos, or pies, while the premium bread assortments may offer, among other products, multigrain piccolo, a loaf with chia seeds, or an oatmeal loaf with raisins and honey.
Whatever products you choose for your hotel, remember: nothing beats good food to guarantee your visitors will be completely satisfied.
