Although bread is, as a general rule, an essential element on any table, now that summer is here it’s even more irresistible. And the fact is that, with the high temperatures, you want to have lunch on a terrace, have a picnic outside or enjoy a day out at the beach. What can you take that is comfortable, easy to transport and easy to eat? A sandwich, of course.

But a sandwich need not be boring. What’s more: today, there are many recipes with different types of bread that show that variety is the spice of life. And if the mixture included between the slices is tasty and, above all, healthy, what more can you ask?

Water bread with turkey breast and avocado

Water bread  is one of those products that has a long history. It’s not for nothing that, centuries after it appeared, it’s still one of the most popular products among the public. The fact is that using water bread to make a sandwich is a delicious and easy option.

For this snack, you’ll need turkey breast, avocado, fresh cheese, and cherry tomato.

Avocado contains magnesium and potassium, minerals, vitamins in groups A, C, D, K and B. Its vitamin C and E content make it a good antioxidant, which are also essential for the body’s neurological levels and for cardiovascular health.

It’s rich in fibre, and in oleic acid, besides containing folic acid. A perfect complement to our Water Bread.

Firstly, you have to open the bread in two parts and enjoy that alveolate crumb, where we add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, thin slices of turkey breast and slices of fresh cheese. We then add the avocado, and the cherry tomatoes, which are cut in half. We season our sandwich with salt and pepper to taste and add a subtle touch of chopped chives. As a final touch we add another splash of extra virgin olive oil to enhance its flavour and lend our healthy sandwich an attractive appearance. Wholemeal bread with salmon and brie

Wholemeal bread is recognised for its higher fibre content and for being highly digestible, but it can also be the perfect accompaniment to a sunny day outdoors. With what? With products that go as well as salmon and brie.

Salmon is considered one of the healthiest foods in the world thanks to its high nutritional value and its omega-3 content.

It’s also rich in calcium and an excellent source of vitamins B12 and B6, proteins, essential fatty acids and minerals such as selenium and magnesium.

Preparing this wholemeal bread sandwich is also very easy. We slice a tomato and place it on the base of the bread, we place the pre-washed and -dried chicory leaves, we add the brie, cut into thin slices, and finish it with two slices of smoked salmon. If you want a more intense flavour, you can add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard.

A cereal bread sandwich with goat’s cheese, walnuts and mushrooms with rosemary honey

A very healthy option according to current consumer trends thanks to its benefits for health: the seeds provide vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and fibre.
