Halloween: Ideas to attract more customers to your business.

It's the scariest day of the year. Halloween comes as always, at the end of October and, if you know how to make the most of your products and your establishment, you're certain to succeed.

For some years now, Halloween has not been celebrated only in the United States, but also practically the world over. Although its origins go back to the Celtic people and how they paid homage to the spirit of the dead when they marked the end of the harvest, today everyone wants to join in this fun (and terrifying!) event where pumpkins, bats, cobwebs and sweets play leading roles.

If you have a cafeteria or bakery, you should know that it's very easy to include thematic elements to offer products that are as exquisite as they are spooky. Thanks to frozen doughs, and specifically to frozen doughs for bakeries, which allow you to have varied and diverse products, it'll be easier than ever. Note how you can decorate and customise your products and your premises so that around Halloween you take maximum advantage and offer your clientele added value.

Sweets as scary as they are tasty

If there's a flavour that stands out on Halloween, it's sweet. Children can't resist sweets and candy in this season, and pastries are usually a safe bet. In this regards, there are two products that take the cake and can be made into eloquent spiders or monsters:   hoops   and puff pastry. We'll tell you how.

In the case of the   hoops , because of their circular shape, they're perfect for making into delicious spiders. If you also opt for a frosted hoop, its finish will make it shine and attract even more attention. To customise it, you only need very simple elements, such as chocolate. Chocolate will let you add legs, eyes and malevolent mouths to your spiders.

To do this, you'll only need to melt chocolate, make the shapes you want, let it cool, put it in the refrigerator to harden, and that's it! You can also use this technique to make spider's webs to decorate the surface of foods. Another option is to use a pastry bag to paint directly whatever you want onto the product and then, as before, allow it to cool for a while. If time's short, you can also buy and add Halloween edible eyes, which you can place on top of the products to make them look terrifying.  What about putting hoops in a waffle iron for a few seconds? The result will be terrifying.

Puff pastries   also allow for many Halloween decorations. Using, for example, white chocolate with an orange or mint aroma,  horseshoes  can be covered in striking colours to make them stand out and be customised, as they are with hoops, using chocolate or eyes.

You can also decorate your   muffins , croissants and brioche bread on top with orangepastry cream (you'll only need food colouring, and it's one of thequintessential Halloween colours) as well as with some dark chocolate chips, etc. Or even make your own candy floss spider web in which to entangle your products. Use your imagination, there are tonnes of ideas!

Your premises: another leading player at Halloween

Besides the products, the premises can also become part of this festivity. There are many ways to do this, some really simple, that you can straight forwardly integrate around Halloween and then withdraw.

For example, you can include Halloween garlands. They can be made of cardboard, coloured paper or eva rubber and be made into shapes such as pumpkins, ghosts, spiders and skulls; although, if you're in a hurry, you could also buy them. Decorative spider webs are also an ideal complement, because they alow you to lend the premises a mysterious air and they're very easy to put up and take down both in the window and in other areas of your establishment.

Not only that: you can also try changing some of your posters with a typeface that's more in line with Halloween ( you might find inspiration here), or leave the Halloween "edible eyes" somewhere in the space, a decorated pumpkin, and even a creepy skeleton. To this, you can also add promotional actions such as "scary" discounts for customers who come in disguise.

Using like Halloween to promote consumption of your products and giving your store ten out of ten for atmosphere is possible. You just have to squeeze out all your creativity. Have a frighteningly good time!
