Committed to you, committed to equality

This is recognised by the prestigious ‘Fent Empresa. Iguals en Oportunitats’ (Doing Business. Equality in Opportunities) seal of the Regional Department of Equality and Inclusive Policies of the Valencian Regional Government.

Frimar Panaderos, (the company to which the Group’s manufacturing plants belong), has been rewarded for its commitment to equality. Specifically, it was awarded a prestigious seal by the Regional Department of Equality and Inclusive Policies, which is part of the Valencian Regional Government, and which thus recognises the company’s commitment to and involvement in equality.

The Seal of Equality ‘Fent Empresa. Iguals en Oportunitat’ will be applied to all the company’s work centres throughout the Region of Valencia over the next four years, which match the validity of the current Equality plan (2020-2024). Currently, of the total workforce in this region (761 employees), more than 53% are women, that is, 405 employees.

Since the beginning of the Equality Plan negotiations, the company Frimar Panaderos has declared its commitment to establishing and developing policies that integrate equal treatment and opportunities between women and men, without directly or indirectly discriminating on the basis of sex.

On the other hand, measures have also been promoted and fostered to achieve real equality within the organisation. Thus, equal opportunities between women and men has been established as a strategic principle in the company’s Corporate and Human Resources Policy.

Moreover, the principle of equality of opportunities between women and men is adopted in all the company’s activities, from selection to promotion, from the salary policy, training, working and employment conditions, workplace health, work scheduling and work-life balance.

This is also reflected in the company’s equality commission, which consists of both workers’ representatives and company representatives. Every six months, the actions are assessed, and the measures are reviewed to find what is being achieved and what is not.

Thus, awareness-raising training is carried out periodically for 100% of the staff. On the other hand, there are also action protocols for cases sexual harassment, harassment based on sex or for victims of gender-based violence. Moreover, another key point is the reduction in working hours for legal custody, which is directly related to work-life balance; and equal pay.

Panamar Bakery Group has always pursued its aim of fostering a business culture that makes it possible to establish the principle of equal treatment and opportunities. With this recognition of excellence, the company has shown its significant contribution to equal opportunities for women and men within the company.
